Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck and plastic or ceramic chips. There are several different variants of the game, but the basics remain the same. Most Poker variants have at least two betting intervals, but some have as many as five. If they do not check, they are referred to as “staying in.” If they do check, the other players in the table can see some of their hand.
